This is why Adele wasn’t nominated for a Grammy

Adele fans (the millions and counting) were furious on Monday when the 2015 Grammy nominations were announced as the reining queen of iTunes, billboards and all things musically related wasn’t included on the list.

But Why didn’t the British songstress didn’t get any Grammy nominations?

After all, Adele’s third studio album “25” has broken nearly all the records available for international music and is the first album to sell more than 4 million copies in a calendar year.

The music video for “Hello” also broke Vevo’s Record by achieving over 27.7 million views within a 24-hour span, held previously by Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood”.

Maybe because it would be unfair for other artistes? Nah, According to the official Grammy website, for the 58th Annual GRAMMY Awards, albums must be released between Oct. 1, 2014 and Sept. 30, 2015.

Unfortunately, neither Adele’s single “Hello” nor her album was released in that time frame, as “Hello” was released on October 23 and “25” on November 20.

So Adele, who won six Grammys in 2012, was definitely not snubbed by the Grammy’s and she will be eligible for the 2017 Grammy presentations.

According to New York Daily News Online, that’s how Eminem’s “Marshall Mathers LP2” won its 2015 Grammy for best rap album even though it was released in the fall of 2013.

Pharrell Williams also fell victim to the nomination period and won a 2015 Grammy for “Happy,” which was also released in the fall of 2013.
