Transgender Model Amiyah Scott Cast In Empire Spin-off Series
Amiyah Scott has been cast in the Empire spin-off after failing to make the cut for The Real Housewives Of Atlanta.
The 27-year-old transgender actress was approached by Empire creator Lee Daniels in August to read for the show, according to an article on Sunday by TMZ.
The opportunity came after Scott received some buzz while under consideration for RHOA.
Insiders said that Daniels loved Scott’s look and believed she’d be a strong fit as one of the singers in a girl group.
The spin-off has been cast as a prequel to Empire focusing on a young Cookie Lyon.
It was reported in August by TMZ that Scott would replace NeNe Leakes on RHOA.
Scott was born as Arthur and began her transformation 10 years ago when she was 17.
The brunette refers to herself by a number of different monikers on her Instagram account, which include: ‘the unicorn with an invisible horn,’ model, make-up guru, and a weaveologist, as well as mermaid, transformer and beauty consultant.
Scott said on her modelling profile on website Model Mayhem, that she has been ‘internationally known in the underground Ballroom Scene.’
The model said she was ‘born in Manhattan, New York but raised in New Orleans, Louisiana’ and described herself as: ‘the ultimate Southern Belle with an “Up North” twist.’
Scott has been linked to several high profile names in the past including Souljah Boy, Daniel ‘Boobie’ Gibson and Chad Ochocinco.
