Accident causes major traffic pile up on Mona Road

A traffic accident that occurred on Mona Road, in the vicinity of the University of the West Indies (UWI) caused a major traffic pile-up along the roadway earlier this morning, resulting in a diversion of traffic.

Reports are that a motorcyclist was hit by a motor car being driven by a nurse who was heading toward UWI. The man was heading in the opposite direction.

reports are that the motorcyclist appeared to be dead as his body has been covered with a sheet. He was still wearing his helmet.

The cause of the collision is unclear at this time.
